Direct Care Associate

$2.50 shift differential forevenings,overnights, andweekends

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a Full-Time Direct Care Associate to join our team and help us make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve at our Intermediate Care Facilities.

As the Direct Care Associate, you will be critical in providing a level of care and support to individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or other conditions that require total care with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide total care to residents, including assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and hygiene.
• Assist residents in mealtime activities, including feeding, meal preparation, and ensuring proper nutritional intake.
• Administer medications as prescribed, strictly adhering to protocols and maintaining accurate records.
• Help residents with mobility and positioning to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the care team to provide the best possible care to residents.

Requirements:

One year of direct care experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, mental illness, or experience working in an Intermediate Care Facility,CNA a plus. Valid Virginia Drivers

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
