SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a global company seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their facility in Gresham, OR. This company has been operating for over 50 years and is recognized as the world’s leading synthetic diamond and super-materials producer.     Primary Function:

    The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager, as part of a team tasked to operate a CVD diamond facility in Portland, Oregon. They will play a lead role in developing and maintaining site equipment, systems and procedures in addition to ensuring the highest levels of Overall Equipment Effectiveness for the facility with a continual-improvement mindset. They will be responsible for the hiring, training, and development of a team of Maintenance Technicians. They will also be a key contributor to the overall leadership of the site.

    Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Be a key member of the site leadership team and ensure that the maintenance team’s KPI’s are fully aligned with site goals.

  • Manage a team of Maintenance Technicians tasked with seeking improvement opportunities in line with best practices and driving continuous improvement across the function.

  • Manage the hiring, training and development of Maintenance Technicians and ensure ongoing process compliance.

  • Develop an in-depth technical understanding of CVD diamond-synthesis reactors and other site equipment, and create SOP’s for preventative maintenance as-needed.

  • Ensure that SOP’s are frequently reviewed and modified to maximize efficiencies.

  • Proactively assist with the development and implementation of factory and site acceptance procedures.

    Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • Preference for a 4-year degree in a technical discipline but may substitute experience in lieu of a degree

  • Demonstrated experience of successfully managing a team.

  • Adaptability.  Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and make decisions under pressure. Comfortable leading change.

  • Customer Centric.  Provides clarity and responsiveness to customers and partners (internal and external). Understands the customers underlying needs and problems. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
