We’re currently seeking a caregiver “Personal Assistant” who will support a man who lives in his own condo in Gresham and experiences developmental disabilities. He is a happy, friendly, and jovial person who loves art, music, and volunteering. He is eager to work with a Personal Assistant who is attentive and respectful.

You will go grocery shopping and to the food bank. You will work together on household chores, cooking, and attending medical appointments. He needs assistance with taking medications, managing his diet, and using adaptive equipment.

You will work two shifts per week totaling 42 hours: 8am-8pm on Friday and 2pm on Sunday through 8pm on Monday (42-hour shift). *You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays for all schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check.

  • Driving on the job is optional—if choosing to drive for UCP, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, at least two years of driving experience, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

  • Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.

Benefits

  • $18.00 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.

  • Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.

  • Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).
