North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Postdoctoral Research Associate in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

This is a non-tenure-track, year-to-year appointment, renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the need.

The research associate will function with substantial independence to support research activities in the areas of hydrology, water quality, watershed modeling and management in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the College of Engineering at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

The research activities include all the activities in the research continuum including but not limited to design, development, execution, sample analysis, data analysis, publication, extension/outreach, and student mentorship.

The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic and collaborative work environment with our interdisciplinary research team, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in research.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

North Carolina A & T State University ( NCA & TSU ) is a public land grant high research activity university that enrolls approximately 13,560 students. NCA & TSU is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service.

The College of Engineering ( COE ), with over 2,300 students, has 5 Doctoral programs, 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET -accredited program Computer Science.

The Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering ( CAEE ) Department is responsible for implementing and assessing its programs in civil and architectural engineering.

The CAEE department offers BS and MS programs. The CAEE department has approximately 367 undergraduate and graduate students.

The CAEE department has 11 full-time faculty, 6 part-time faculty, and 2 staff members.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science or agricultural/biological engineering or related field.

Preferred:

Experience with field experiments, laboratory analysis, and computational modeling in the areas of hydrology, water quality, water resources engineering and management.

Knowledge of using SWAT and other models, data analysis, machine learning techniques are preferred.
