North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Genomics Research Associate in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

This is a non tenure track, year to year appointment, the selected candidate will be annually subjected to satisfactory performance, availability of resources and the need.

The Research Associate will aid the PI in completing research and training activities in traditional and computational genomics. They will aid the educational material development for K12 outreach and post-secondary workshops. The research associate will function with substantial independence to support research activities in the areas of genomics, data analysis and molecular biology in the Department of Computational Data Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

The successful candidate will be apart of a collaborative teaching and research environment with faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students. The research activities including but not limited to design, data generation, development, execution, sampIe anaIysis, data anaIysis, pubIication, extension/outreach, and student mentorship.

Genomic Research and Data Science Center for Computation and Cloud-Computing ( GRADS -4C) is an NIH funded educational hub. Our Mission is to develop an educational and hands-on research training network with resources in computational genomics, data sciences, and cloud computing ( CGDS ) to investigate and improve human health, as well as develop the future CGDS workforce, particularly among underserved populations.

Requirements:

Masters in Biology, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biological Engineering or related fields. A minimum of 4+ years of research lab experience in a related field

Preferred:

PhD in Biology, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biological Engineering or related fields. A minimum of 2+ years of research lab experience in a related field
