Trinity Health Registered Nurse - Weekend RN - Operating Room - Full Time in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Employment Type:

Full time

Shift:

12 Hour Night Shift

Description:

Trinity Health's surgical suite/OR currently consists of 16 beds and was just recently renovated. This is a newly renovated area. We also have a Hybrid operating room is a surgical theatre that is equipped with advanced medical imaging devices such as fixed C-Arms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-Arm/oC-Arm) , CT (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-ray_computed_tomography/oX-ray%20computed%20tomography) scanners or MRI (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MRI/oMRI) scanners. These imaging devices enable minimally-invasive surgery, which is less traumatic for the patient. Minimally invasive means that the surgeon does not need to cut the patient open completely in order to access the body part wanted to perform surgery on, but can insert catheters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catheters/oCatheters) or endoscopes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endoscope/oEndoscope) through small holes. Though imaging has been a standard part of the OR for a long time in the form of mobile C-Arms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-Arm/oC-Arm) , ultrasound (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasound/oUltrasound) and endoscopy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endoscopy/oEndoscopy) , these new minimally-invasive procedures require imaging techniques that can visualize smaller body parts such as really thin vessels in the heart muscle and can be facilitated through intraoperative 3D imaging (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotational_angiography/oRotational%20angiography) .
