Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Pediatric Physiatrist in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Summary Pediatric Physiatrist is responsible for providing professional medical services in the specialty of Physiatry (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) to the patients of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. The medical services provided are within the mission, vision and values of the parent corporation, the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. She reports to the Chief Medical Officer. Service Includes: Inpatient (current service runs 6-12) & Outpatient (2-3 half days/week). Weekend Call 1/6 Rotation. Essential Job Responsibilities * Provides professional medical services in the specialty of physiatry to patients of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in the following areas: o Inpatients o Outpatients o Clinics o Timely consultations at referring hospitals and facilities o Invasive procedures within the normal scope of physiatry practice when o adequate credentials and procedural guidelines including staff education are established. * Maintains medical records in a timely fashion and cooperates with billing, peer review and compliance programs * Provides oversight and education for students, residents, and any mid-level providers * Maintains staff privileges at MFB, and mutually agreed upon other hospitals, including the duties required to maintain those privileges such as medical record completion, committee service, compliance, citizenship, etc. * Identifies and promotes opportunities for improvement of care and actively participates in MFB quality initiatives * Monitors developments in specialty field and promotes new programs that meet new program criteria * Provides medical leadership to treatment team treating assigned patients and promotes harmonious and effective team functioning * Models professional behavior * Enhances knowledge and understanding of capabilities and services of MFB among medical professionals and patient populations through regular participation in professional education sessions with network partners, discharge planning conferences at regional acute care hospitals, participation in ICU and other Rehab teams at network and regional acute care hospitals and similar activities, community outreach and programming opportunities presented or promoted by the Hospital. * Promotes the financial viability of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. * Promotes the development and dissemination of new knowledge, preferably in peer reviewed journals * Embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, by: Treating everyone with dignity and respect Opening more doors to opportunities for underrepresented cultures Growing talent and people Evaluating and eliminating disparities Taking action against injustices, bias and racism Honoring our differences and how to collaborate Educating staff, patients, and the communities we care for Restoring Hope and Freedom, together Customer Service Responsibilities Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members.
