SUMMARY

The College is interested in seeking candidates to teach EXS 202 Psychosocial Aspects of Physical

Education and Sport This course provides students with a comprehensive view of sport and exercise

science psychology. The psychosocial and cultural context of sports, exercise science, and physical

education are reviewed. Students also learn the social and cultural forces that influence the

psychological and behavioral factors affecting sport, exercise science, and physical education.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach EXS 202 Psychosocial Aspects of Physical Education and Sport class in an in-person • Develop effective lesson plans to meet course outcomes. • Effectively assess student performance. • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students. • Utilize multiple strategies to facilitate learning, i.e. small group work, workshops, etc. • Incorporate new technologies and methods that enhance teaching and learning into his/her instructional methods. • Maintain accurate course records and submit related reports as requested. • Communicate in a timely and effective fashion with the Department Head and students. • Support the Department and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty • Follow College policies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Master's Degree or higher in Sport/Performance Psychology, Psychology, Sport Science, • Exercise Science or related disciplines from a regionally accredited university. • Successful teaching experience in higher education required, Community College preferred. • Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic skills. • Participation in professional development and/or continuous improvement activities in order to remain current in the field. • Online learning management system experience is preferred, but not required. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to perform routine and unexpected duties with minimum supervision.

Equipment Use/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Blackboard experience is preferred, but not required. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to perform routine and unexpected duties with minimum supervision.
