Bata Plastics is looking for a Full-time 2nd shift CDL-A driver to join our team! Local routes

  • Home Daily
  • Interstate (100 mile radius)
  • Hourly rate plus shift premium for second shift
  • Paid weekly
  • No touch freight
  • Mostly drop and hook

POSITION SUMMARY

Driver's hours and schedules are based on production demands and customer requirements. Driver's hours are subject to FMCSRs rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insures compliance to DOT and Bata policies, rules and regulations via daily trip report and DVIR.
  • Drives a semi-truck with trailer doing local and out of state runs
  • Performs drop and hooks
  • Performs double drop and hooks
  • Moves tractors and trailers in yard as required
  • Pre and post run tractor and trailer inspections
  • Cleans tractor daily
  • Assists in trailer cleaning and preparation
  • Generate bill of ladings as required
  • Wears appropriate Bata driver attire
  • Performs and complies to all Bata policies
  • Performs and complies to all Federal and State DOT policies
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED), current CDL with 3 years of driving tractor-trailer preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, or an Aptitude and Willingness to Learn or obtain:

Knowledge of FMCSRs regulations

Knowledge of Truck Driver's Policies and Procedures

Meet DOT driver qualification requirements

Read, analyze and interpret written documentation, policies, and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Be able to obtain a DOT medical certification, and remain current according to FMCSRs guidelines

Acknowledge and participate in a random DOT consortium for Drug and Alcohol Testing according to FMCSRs and Bata Policy

Extended hours sitting and driving through city/ urban and residential roads and highways

Able to use both hands; driving and shifting

Able to remain observant and focused in order to follow safe driving practices even during extreme weather conditions

Able to sweep and use a broom/shovel to clean trailers

Able to use various tools to clean and perform minor maintenance
