Position Title: President , Long-Term Acute Care Hospital ( LTACH )

Position Summary:

The LTACH President is responsible for the overall operation of the Hospital and is accountable for establishing long-range plans to support the hospital’s strategic objectives, values, and vision for the Hospital subject to the approval of the Board. Directs, deploys & executes the strategies as created/directed by governing board of directors and the RHM Leader to address internal/external business & regulatory issues. Responsible for consistent operating performance and achieving financial goals. Represents the Hospital with the Medical Staff, professional societies, governmental agencies, other health care institutions, the financial community and other external publics. Organizes hospital functions through delegation of duties, appropriate departmentalization and maintaining accountability from managers. Recommends policies and practices to support patient care and ensure that accurate and complete records are maintained. Collaborates with Health Ministries within RHM and across RHMs to ensure consistency and integration of strategy & operations. Maintains awareness of new industry developments & standards. Provides decision support, operations &/or optimization leadership focus.

What the President, LTACH will need:

  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of healthcare management principles and techniques as normally obtained through a Master's Degree in Health Administration or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of management experience with broad strategic and operational knowledge required.

  • Experience in understanding and complying with the regulatory requirements tied to LTACH facilities.

What the President, LTACH will do:

  • Provide advice, guidance and leadership to direct reports peers in developing strategies and in the achievement of performance goals.

  • Provides leadership and guidance to leadership teams, fostering collaborative planning, innovation and decision-making.

  • Provides leadership and directly and/or indirectly supervises functional operations leaders ensuring the achievement of financial, operational and strategic plans with a focus on excellence in people-centered care in a variety of delivery settings.

  • Champions change and improvement - seeks out and employs effective change management and performance improvement techniques and tools.

  • Leads and develops community engagement/outreach opportunities.

  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation of the RHM and/or departmental forecasting and plans and ensures the allocation of funds based on the HM/RHMs strategies and priorities in partnership with Finance.

  • Directs LTACH operations to achieve forecasted results and other financial criteria and to preserve the capital funds invested in the organization. Evaluates financials and workforce management metrics regularly and systematically.
