McLaren Health Care Provider Contracting Specialist - McLaren Careers in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Position Summary:

Supports the day-to day functions and operations of the provider contracting team. Facilitates consistency, efficiency, compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and adherence to McLaren health system policies and procedures throughout the provider contracting process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities As Assigned:

  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence pertaining to employed providers, including contracts, addendums, renewals, emails, formal letters, and memoranda.

  • Work in coordination and cooperation with provider recruitment, operations, compensation, finance, human resources, hospital administration, and other stakeholders to ensure timely preparation and execution of agreements and other legal documents in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Maintain an electronic database with all current contract templates and other approved contract language and standard documents.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all McLaren health system and policies and processes and key legal and compliance requirements related to provider contracting.

  • Maintain a current and complete electronic file for each provider, containing all contracts (including amendments, renewals, assignments, etc.), formal correspondence, and other documents and information throughout the contract lifecycle in accordance with applicable policies and processes.

  • Recommend and implement improvements in department and interdepartmental workflows and daily department operations related to provider contract creation and management.

  • Maintain knowledge and a general understanding of the legal and compliance regulations and standards related to provider contracting.

  • Assume responsibility for coordinating and/or participating in special projects as assigned.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Highschool diploma or GED

  • Three years’ administrative experience in a legal or other professional office or a corporate environment.

  • Three years’ contract management/administration experience in a corporate environment.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a legal, business, or healthcare or related field.
