McLaren Health Care Manager Corporate Supply Chain Management Vendor Operations - McLaren Careers in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Position Summary:

Provides managerial oversight of Supply Chain Management’s third-party vendor operations across the corporation. There will be a significant focus on the logistics program responsible for the movement of products, goods, and equipment throughout MHC. Position is responsible for identifying cost savings opportunities and proactively implementing initiatives to aid in reducing the overall cost of operations related to external vendor associated with SCM. Individual will work with SCM designated partners to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations by all parties and take a leading role with both corporate and subsidiary staff/facilities to monitor and implement all SCM third party initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the MHC Logistics program including the management of all third-party transportation vendors. Monitors vendor performance to ensure adherence to all contracts and performance targets.

  2. Works cooperatively with MHC directors and executives in developing and implementing cost saving initiatives including the justification, purchase, and control of expenditures relating to supply chain third party vendors.

  3. Administers and adheres to policies and budgets necessary to achieve approved departmental and corporate goals.

  4. Promotes participation in programs and contracts designed to reduce the cost of transportation, ordering and inventory. Supports and participates in GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) contracts as directed.

  5. Champions Sourcing standards of MHC Supply Chain Management including evaluation, qualification, and selection of vendors; the cost analysis, request for quote (RFQ), request for purchase (RFP), negotiation of supplies and services agreements; the evaluation of vendor performance, invoice discrepancy resolution.

  6. Arranges and participates in meetings between vendors and/or MHC subsidiary personnel to provide guidance on material/product selection based off McLaren standards.

  7. Manages supply chain management quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities within MHC through the SCM Business Analytics team – Including but not limited to the development of job aids and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role in Supply Chain Management with demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.

Preferred:

  • MBA or MHA

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
