Job Summary

The Environmental Services Director is responsible for the overall management of the Environmental Services department. The Director leads employees in the accomplishment of cleaning all areas of the hospital in accordance with established schedules, technical and administrative policies/procedures. The Director also ensures the completion of training, counseling, quality inspections, scheduling, evaluating and reporting. The goal is to provide quality service to every patient, every time.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor degree required.

Licensure/

Certification

Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) credential required or obtained within two years from hire date.

Experience

Five or more years of healthcare or healthcare-related EVS management, or progressively responsible supervisory experience in hospital EVS environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Considerable knowledge of procedures, materials and equipment used in environmental services.

· Proven leadership qualities, e.g., maturity, job knowledge, professionalism, communication skills, etc. to lead, guide and motivate others.

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

· Outstanding problem-solving skills.

· Results oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

· Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
