Unit Description: Medial Floor The Medical Floor is a 46 bed Med-Surge unit with 4 Isolation rooms, 2 which are negative pressure rooms that house TB and Covid patients. This floor does not have telemetry. The Medical Floor has a general mix of patients; COPD, GI issues, ETOH, Dementia, Pneumonia, etc. Expectations of RNs along with other policies and procedures: Attend shift safety huddle, Multidisciplinary rounds on days, Bedside shift report, float to like floors, be positive! Staff must be fitted for an N95. Position Summary: RN Medical The RN is responsible for the accurate reconciliation of medications for the admitted patient. Working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Resources this position works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to communicate any discrepancies in the patient’s medication history. Works closely with the Quality Department, Nursing Leadership, and medical providers to identify opportunities for improvement in the medication reconciliation process.
