Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Engineer II will work in the Infrastructure Organization and be responsible for working on long-term projects, performing infrastructure maintenance activities, and providing subject-matter expertise for the Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex and mission-critical Production Data Center environment
Work closely with other teams to ensure problem resolution and minimize outage times
Participate in the development of infrastructure automation
Create and manage tools for automation, such as API integrations and script development
Work closely with other teams to develop requirements for infrastructure and application solutions
Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Adhere to change management policies and procedures
Ensure that data center documentation is kept up-to-date
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline and one or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2+ years of experience with software and/or script development using languages such as Python, GoLang, or Bash
2+ years administering Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian or CentOS/RedHat
1+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as SALT, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform
1+ years experience administering virtualization technologies such as VMWare or Kubernetes
1+ years experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware issues with Enterprise class servers and storage devices
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic understanding of concepts such as DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native architecture; including familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, and Pipelines
Basic understanding of data center networking concepts including the layers of the OSI model, routing and switching, network troubleshooting, and information data security
Familiarity with basic application architectures including web servers, web caches, databases, clustered storage, etc
Familiarity with common data center components, such as servers and storage devices, network appliances, racks, and data center power infrastructure
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data so that trends can be recognized before they become customer-impacting issues
Strong logical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers and coworkers
Must be able to participate in 24/7 on-call duties
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year
