Kokosing EHS Specialist - Kokosing in Fredericktown, Ohio

Summary:

This is a job of moderate complexity requiring the ability to work and act both independently and under the direction of Senior EH&S Management.

The EH&S specialist will assist the Kokosing Group of Companies, providing Environmental Services.

The EH&S Specialist is responsible for performing tasks associated with maintaining compliance with applicable environmental regulations, recognize safety concerns and at-risk behaviors while in the field, understanding industrial hygiene principles and practices, and assisting in the development and growth of the sustainability program.

 

Responsibilities:

*    Environmental*

  • Help create, educate, and perform environmental inspections to include but not limited to:
    • Industrial Storm Water and Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plans (SWP3)
    • Spill Prevention Countermeasures and Controls (SPCC) plan site inspections and Audits
    • State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) Reporting Inspections and Audits
    • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Material/Universal Waste
    • Permit compliance and evaluations
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to the jobsites on environmental issues.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of environmental reports for compliance
  • Assist in training and education of the work force to improve the growth and development of the environmental program and our team members
  • Provide feedback to improve the growth and development of the environmental program
  • Take an active role in laboratory analysis, emissions testing, and field observations
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and weekends as well as travel when necessary
  • Participate or attend environmental conferences or seminars to continue individual education

*    Sustainability*

  • Assist in developing and implementing sustainability plans and initiatives for the various companies.
  • Serve as internal leader on emerging trends, frameworks, industry benchmarks, and issues in the construction industry.

*    Industrial Hygiene*

  • Be Knowledgeable in industrial hygiene practices and procedures.
  • Understand when environmental impacts require additional safety and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Provide jobsite support for analytic analysis and understanding of environmental and industrial hygiene needs and practices.

*    Safety*

Observe and enforce company safety standards as part of IH and Environmental duties. Understand the safety hazards associated with the installation and implementation of environmental BMP (best management practices)

Be a leader in the field and understand when to speak up/stop work due to safety or environmental concer
