CACI is seeking a cleared System Engineer to support an Army Program Office on Ft Belvoir, VA. Subject matter expert for Systems Engineering, and has the ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead.

Position requires experience with MagicDraw, knowledge of United Architecture Framework (UAF) and SySML and UML modelling languages, and understanding of the function of Army company-size organizations. Secret clearance required.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Manage systems engineering activities including requirements analyses, functional analyses, design solutions formulation, systems analysis and control, and generation and maintenance of systems architecture products.

  • Apply system engineering principles and procedures to translate quantified needs/requirements into system performance parameters and the identification of system/item configuration.

  • Formulate and issue systems engineering documents, processes, procedures and milestones.

  • Requires knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and Implementation, as applied to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process throughout all life cycle phases; knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD) and IPT Management; and ability to coordinate and negotiate design and engineering activities with other related programs and organizations.

  • Provide expert and authoritative advice affecting critical programs and technologies.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all technical aspects of assigned program.

  • Perform top level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.

  • Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.

  • Participate in post awards, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.

  • Evaluate design efforts to ensure integration of all the engineering disciplines and adequacy of the analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as needed.

  • Review test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.

  • Review and evaluate system performance against specification requirements, monitors and assesses field performance, and assesses risk of meeting user and specification requirements.

  • Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required, and conduct physical and functional configuration audits.

  • Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • BS Engineering and >20 years of relevant experience OR, MS Engineering and >15 years of experience

  • Familiarity with the Army Acquisition Process

  • Experience with MagicDraw

  • Coding experience and knowledge of Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) and SySML and UML modelling languages

  • Understanding of how Company-size and below types of organizations function

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have :

  • Prior experience supporting US Army product management office

  • Experience at the Army Battalion (or equivalent echelon) and higher

  • Familiar with application of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP)

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$102,900 - $216,200
