We are seeking a General Manager for our Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Location.

This position requires an experienced, results-oriented individual who will work closely with leadership and is directly responsible for overseeing sales, budgets, inventory planning, operation expenses, and coordinating the efficient operation of the Fond du Lac Division. Highly preferred, is a candidate who has a proven track record of commercial success and direct industrial experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand all aspects of operations to ensure all departments have the resources and direction they need to meet desired levels of performance and profitability.

  • Responsible for the development and approval of division forecasts and budgets, controlling operating, supply, and labor costs, and maintaining division pricing discipline.

  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and support sales efforts as required.

  • Promotes safety excellence by maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, training staff on safe working techniques, and monitoring employee behavior and equipment functionality.

  • Ensure all employees follow industry-standard health and safety guidelines.

  • Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all team members and encourage a spirit of working and winning together, as part of a one CTI team.

  • Develop and recommend policies and objectives to ensure the most effective operation of the division; communicate these to all personnel.

  • Appraise the results of the division’s programs against planned objectives.

  • Direct the continuing appraisal of pricing, the distribution function, and other policies and procedures; recommend changes that would improve the attainment of objectives.

  • Assure that customer communications and orders are handled promptly and accurately; provide for resolution of customer service problems.

  • Oversee division marketing efforts to promote the company’s brand, products, and services.

  • Promote product training seminars for inside and outside sales staff.

  • Has ultimate responsibility for the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the division’s quality system based on ISO 9001: 2015 standards.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior management role overseeing all aspects of a business, including P&L in the steel distribution industry

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is required

  • Experience leading teams to comply with ISO 9001:2015 standards and OSHA regulations

  • Proven track record of training and leading employees in productivity and safety

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Customer-focused approach with a results-oriented, ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Ability to quickly adjust to rapidly changing market trends and customer demands without losing composure or efficiency

  • Effective communicator at all levels of customer and CTI organization

  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office and ERP software
