Fond du Lac Regional Clinic SC, a physician-owned and governed multi-specialty group affiliated with SSM Health through a professional service agreement, is recruiting for a SSM Health employed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Cardiology department. Professionally rewarding opportunity to join an established department of experienced providers.

Position Highlights:

  • Seeking a motivated candidate with strong interpersonal skills who can function collaboratively in a large team atmosphere.

  • Outpatient focused position involving a variety of Cardiology patients. Candidate would help manage a variety of cardiovascular problems (i.e., heart failure, coronary disease, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, among others) in an outpatient setting including hospital follow ups.

  • 40 hours per week (4 x 10hour days or 5 x 8hour days)

  • Join an established team of five Cardiologists, two Electrophysiologists, one Cardiothoracic Surgeon and seven APPs supporting services in a community with growing cardiovascular needs.

  • Cardiology experience preferred but will train new graduates or individuals without prior Cardiology experience for the right candidate.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with people involved in the care of the patient including other Cardiology team members, attending providers, nursing staff, and ancillary staff.

  • Wisconsin registered nurse license and advanced practice nurse licensure or certified physician assistant

Job Summary:

In collaboration with physician(s), demonstrates and provides professional nursing care to specialty patients requiring an advanced level of knowledge and management of their nursing care.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiates and provides medical interventions in response to acute changes in patient conditions.

  • Provides educational services to nursing and ancillary departments and serves as an educational consultant on clinical practice issues.

  • Applies evidence based practices to achieve multidisciplinary collaboration to facilitate continuity of care.

  • Contributes to the satisfaction of the medical staff by collaborating with physicians to deliver best care.

  • Recognizes and utilizes opportunities to act as a change agent by introducing nursing practice innovations.

  • Evaluates nursing practices associated with specialty area, defines needs/problems with patient care and makes constructive suggestions that creates a positive patient outcome.

  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Completion of a formal post-basic education program from or formally affiliated with an accredited college, university or hospital (Before July 1, 1998) or a graduate degree from an accredited college or university (After July 1, 1998) with a concentration in the appropriate advanced practice nursing clinical specialty area.

  • Board certification by a national recognized certifying board in the appropriate population focus

  • Current or compact RN license in appropriate state

  • Appropriate APRN license or document of recognition in appropriate state

EXPERIENCE

  • One year experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.

  • Constant standing and walking.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.

  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Occasional driving.

  • Rare crawling and running.
