Job Description

Avery Dennison is a global leader in pressure-sensitive adhesives and materials, labels, tags, retail systems and specialty chemicals. The Fastener Solutions Division of Avery Dennison is a worldwide manufacturer of plastic fastening systems used in the automotive, apparel, retail, industrial and packaging industries. Our three-shift injection molding and extrusion operation is located in Fitchburg, MA. The Fastener Solutions Division is ISO/TS 16949 certified.

The Production Scheduler takes full responsibility for assisting in the daily decision-making regarding specific SKU’s in injection molding and extrusion molding. This role is responsible for supporting the total materials management of their respective area including planning, scheduling, capacity management, procurement, logistics, and inventory control. Optimizing inventory position, meeting customer timely delivery expectations and maintaining a favorable cost basis, are all key results for this position.

Your responsibilities will include:

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Scheduling

  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications. Develops a production schedule to meet our Customer requirements while maintaining inventory goals.

  • Maintains and develops Production spreadsheets to facilitate both scheduling and purchasing.

  • Responsible for Production daily and monthly reports. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting production and financial information to increase productivity and efficiency

  • Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.

  • Supervise inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.

  • Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports.

  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

  • Implement lean concepts and continuous improvements regarding supply chain, materials management, and logistics systems and processes.

Buying

  • Analyze and plan material requirements by determining the quantity and date materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.

  • Arranges timely deliveries of all materials & supplies required for Manufacturing to meet scheduled production.

  • Expedites materials and serves as liaison between Suppliers & users.

  • Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports.

What we will be looking for in you:

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

  • 3  years of Production Scheduling experience.

  • Good analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and thorough.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups and supply chain to define and complete overall requirements.

  • Understanding of ERP systems, G-Suite, Word, Excel (including Macros, Lookup & Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, Access, Visual Basic.

  • Understanding of MFG/PRO a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
