E C COMPANY Generator Technician in Fife, Washington

The position of Field Service Technician is responsible for performing service work throughout the local region. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 3200 KW
  • Following proper procedures for load bank testing
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
  • Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Working independently with a minimum of daily supervision
  • Working in a safe manner at all times

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum three years' experience in the power generation industry
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
  • Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
  • Valid driver's license required, with good driving record meeting company standards
  • Must have hand tools to complete all repairs mentioned above (including VOM, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience driving in adverse weather conditions to perform job functions, towing and backing trailers
  • Intermediate or higher level computer skills
  • Overnight and some extended travel require
