Henry Ford Health System Coordinator - Registered Nurse - Intake/Admissions - Behavioral Health - Afternoons - 40 hours in Ferndale, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reports to Nurse Manager Intake & Admissions. Under minimal supervision, reviews and screens admission requests for inpatient psychiatric placement. Combines clinical, regulatory and hospital acceptance criteria knowledge to reduce risk of inappropriate admissions. Coordinate with non-clinical intake representatives to efficiently and concurrently process clinical, pre-registration and insurance tasks. Participates in patient admission process in collaboration with the admission (registration) and unit staff. Collaborates with Emergency Department physicians, Social Workers and Nursing staff related to initial screening reviews. Collaborates with BH physicians and unit staff to facilitate safe and effective acceptance and bed management.

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • BSN required.

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years Behavioral Health clinical, intake or UR experience required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer functions and applications.

  • Strong, comprehensive knowledge of clinical process¿ and behaviors.
