Job Summary: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing hands-on inspections of aerospace components, ensuring they meet all quality standards and specifications. While experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment is highly desirable, it is not a strict requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming and outgoing aerospace parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Use precision measurement instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify part dimensions.

• Interpret and review inspection reports, escalating any discrepancies or non-conformance issues to the Inspection Lead.

• Maintain inspection records and ensure effective communication between shifts through detailed logbook updates.

• Identify and report any operational or material defects, maintaining a clean and safe work area according to safety regulations.

• Conduct first article inspections and verify compliance with specifications and drawings.

• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and complex surface plate layouts for accurate measurements as needed.

• Compile detailed inspection and MRB (Material Review Board) reports for nonconforming parts.

• Collaborate with the production team to address and prioritize quality issues, ensuring customer expectations are met.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications:

• Experience in inspecting metal aerospace parts is preferred.

• Proficient in shop math and the use of precision measurement instruments.

• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Familiarity with CMM equipment and Calypso software is a plus but not required.

• AS or BS in Engineering is desirable.

• Hands-on experience with first article inspections and aerospace inspection processes is highly advantageous.

This role requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain high-quality standards in aerospace component manufacturing.
