CGI Federal is hiring a Release Train Engineer SME to work with a skilled and motivated team of professionals on a high-visibility Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cyber security program. You will support a dynamic, fast-paced project focused on improving the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies through the implementation and enhancement of a cybersecurity platform, providing integration services, and developing, securing and maintaining cybersecurity dashboards. You will work closely with a variety of agency stakeholders, supporting their mission, priorities, organization and unique challenges. You will also support the development of additional cyber security offerings focused on next generation security solutions and technologies.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Act as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).

• Facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.

• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART and Solution Train using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators.

• Facilitate PI planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process, which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.

• Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.

• Help manage risks and dependencies.

• Escalate and track impediments.

• Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.

• Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering.

• Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.

• Facilitate system demos and solution demos.

• Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve.

• Manage and supervise personnel involved in release management and scheduling activities, organizing and assigning responsibilities to subordinates and overseeing the successful completion of all assigned tasks.

• Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).

• Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities.

• Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level.

• Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary.

• Coach leaders, teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.

• Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.

• Work with DevOps, Infrastructure, and other Operations Leadership to ensure software development and production meet program delivery requirements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required as well as successful passing of CGI background check prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of experience in Lean, Agile or DevOps.

• SAFe certifications - RTE, SPC, and Scrum Master Certification.

• Must have a solid comprehension of Lean Agile frameworks, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe™) and Agile metrics.

• Must have a thorough understanding of Agile and product development methodologies.

• Must have experience in organizing, directing, and managing activities related to building and maintaining software releases for their promotion to the production environment.

• Must possess a strong technical background in information technology management and strong knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies.

• Must have strong program and project management skills and excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Must have proven leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem-solve, and a track-record of successfully leading PI Planning, aligning teams, facilitating transparency across teams and stakeholders.

• Scrum Master experience.

• RTE experience.

• Government contracting experience.

• Servant-leadership skills and Agile mindset.

• Effective decision-making experience under challenging conditions.

Desired qualifications

• PMP or other relevant certifications.

• Experience with CISA’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800 - $165,200.
