Department Summary:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) within the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150), aims to holistically address Logistics and Supply Chain challenges that face our nation, with a focus on the Department of Defense. We accomplish our mission by preparing for and sustaining power projection while under a persistent, multi-domain attack in contested environments through dynamic basing, resupply, and maintenance across 3 focus areas:

  • Architect solutions for robust, secure, resilient logistics networks.

  • Operationalize logistics through decision support.

  • Provide innovative approaches for prepositioning and resupply to meet operational objectives.

  • Preserve our strategic advantage through rapidly establishing mobile, clandestine expeditionary logistics to provide resupply and sustainment to operating forces at the tactical edge.

N154 is responsible and accountable for the Logistics in a Contested Environment Portfolio of projects (4A00) and for creating solutions to Joint Contested Logistics issues across MITRE’s various portfolios.

Job Description:

The N154 Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain Department is seeking an Operations Coordinator to advance the delivery of high-quality, high-impact technical work for our sponsors, drive innovative solutions, develop department talent, and provide thought leadership as part of the AF, COCOM and Joint Service community contested logistics team. The Operations Coordinator is a critical member of the Logistics in a Contested Environment leadership team, supporting the Department Manager, Chief Engineer, Group Leads, Outcome Leads, Project Leaders, and technical staff within N154.

  • Collaborate across geographically dispersed technical teams to manage programs, track financial execution, create visual representations of complex challenges, solutions, and stakeholder mappings.

  • Ability to simplify complex information to cater to a wide audience, with an emphasis on enhancing user experience and effective storytelling.

  • Experience in creating high-quality visual materials in Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

  • Assist N154 Project Leaders with crafting internal and external messaging.

  • In partnership with Department Leadership, manage the schedule, budget and details of numerous projects and tasks associated with Logistics in a Contested Environment.

  • Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, improve effectiveness and/or predict business outcomes.

  • Plans and executes collaboration sessions for the execution of Logistics in a Contested Environment Outcome functions and activities to drive towards delivering high impact at scale for various customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Communications, or related field and at least 2 years of related experience; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 2 years’ experience

  • Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing internal/external events across geographically dispersed teams

  • Possess the ability to organize and manage complex projects or programs.

  • Familiarity with indirect and direct funding sources and processes.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive collaboration across geographic boundaries.

  • Excellent visual, verbal and organizational skills; working knowledge of MS Office products

  • Successful track record of increasing impact through visual depictions, user experience design, and branding.

  • Strong self-starter who can work independently with a willingness to engage with diverse teams.

  • Ability to develop, articulate, and translate complex technical ideas and language into meaningful and impactful products (written or graphical).

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI level security clearance
