Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages, motivates, and supports Bender's outside sales functions including direct employees and partners (independent REP network).
  • Analyzes the results and trends in partner performance and develops action plans to improve performance.
  • Responsible to meet/exceed regional healthcare incoming order and revenue targets.
  • Effectively communicate company strategies and initiatives to partners.
  • Responsible for training partners on how to effectively sell company products.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel including: support, service, and management resources in order to meet partner performance objectives and expectations.
  • Proactively leads a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Sells to end users, contractors, and distributors in coordination with partner sales resources.
  • Interact with manufacture representatives, end-user's (facilities), specifying engineers, building inspectors, and electrical contractors to determine best Bender solution for application.
  • Provide technical education sessions (Lunch and Learns, etc.) to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Attend and assist with planning and execution of industry tradeshows and related technical conferences.
  • Provides input to product development efforts that best addresses end-user needs while coordinating the involvement of necessary company and partner personnel.
  • Ensures partner compliance with partner contracts.
  • Assists in development of market plans to improve the market share of the company.
  • Proactively recruits new qualifying partners.
  • Assists in the direction of the collection of market and competitive data.
  • Documents sales activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works cohesively with inside sales, service sales and support, application engineering, and customer service teams.

Other Duties

  • Completes reports and metrics as required by management.
  • Assists in the development and continual maintenance of process, procedures, and supporting documentation as required by management.
  • Assists in the review of product technical and marketing literature.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience (10+ preferred) in technical sales, strategy and business development role at a firm providing engineer specified equipment (non-commodity) into the critical infrastructure segment ((preferred: healthcare segment (Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery Center, etc.))
  • 3+ years' experience managing channel partners (5+ preferred)
  • 4-year technical degree from accredited university (electrical engineering preferred) or business management (other related degrees with associated technical sales experience may be considered)
  • Excellent communication and influence skills to work with senior executives across various functions and geographies
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) & NFPA 99
  • Familiarity with the function and usage of basic low voltage electrical distribution equipment 
  • Ability to read/understand electrical schematic drawings, panel schedules, and specifications

Work Environment

  • This position requires 45% travel
