GE Aerospace 2nd Shift Engine Test - Maintenance Supervisor in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 2nd Shift Engine Test Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee a unionized hourly work group at our Evendale site. The primary focus of this role is to ensure key production and test metrics are met, project deadlines are achieved, and test equipment and cells are maintained to the highest standards of reliability. The successful candidate will work a second shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of hourly maintenance personnel, including Electrical, Mechanical, and General Maintenance trades.

  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, ensuring accessibility and support to employees.

  • Establish clear expectations regarding output, EHS compliance, and quality workmanship.

  • Foster a strong safety culture to minimize injury rates and encourage proactive concern raising through initiatives such as safe starts.

  • Cultivate a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all employees.

  • Coach, influence, and motivate individuals to achieve business goals and objectives.

  • Hold team members accountable through effective performance management and disciplinary action when necessary.

  • Manage project and time vouchering and oversee work order processes.

  • Regularly communicate shift output, team successes, and challenges to leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, operations, or supervision

  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, maintenance, or a supervisory role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • Familiarity with piping, valves, pumps, compressors, and hydraulics maintenance

  • Basic understanding of MIG and TIG welding processes

  • Project management experience in an industrial or maintenance setting, with the ability to read and interpret prints.

  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment

  • Exceptional conflict management and resolution skills

  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize conflicting demands.
