JOB REQUIREMENTS: Production & Growing Responsibilities Perform various plant propagation techniques as instructed i.e. seeding, cuttings, divisions & container up shifts, etc. Proper labeling of plants and containers Prune & groom plants as needed throughout the season as instructed. Recognize and report any plant problems to Nursery Manager or Retail Supervisor Be familiar with and perform daily watering/irrigation as instructed. Weed container & field grow areas as instructed. Weeding & grooming of demonstration gardens and nursery areas as required. Assist with the unloading and loading of trucks and trailers. Tools, Equipment & Supplies Responsibilities Know the proper use and general maintenance of nursery tools and equipment. Properly store supplies, tools and equipment at the end of each work day; maintain, clean and organize work stations or areas. Maintain tools and equipment in good operating condition. Identify and report broken, poor running, misused tools or equipment in need of replacement or repair. Safely operate skid steer (upon training) for various operations such as moving materials or loading company and retail customer\'s vehicles. Retail/Garden Center Responsibilities Provide help for customers in the choosing of proper plants for their landscaping needs. Explain and provide information for the establishment and care of plant purchases. Acquire knowledge of plant, materials & merchandise available for sale to better assist our clients. Properly complete all forms i.e. Call Reports, Delivery Forms & Plant Inquiry Form. Properly complete all sales transactions per DLN systems. Properly label and price retail plants.-As needed plant or materials deliveries to customers. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience propagating by seed, division and cuttings but will train. General knowledge of the native plants of northeast Wisconsin a plus. Experience using computers and Microsoft Excel. Be well-organized and detail oriented. Work well independently. Retail customer service experience required. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Weekends are required for this position. Enjoy working with others.
