Robert Half Estimator/Project Manager in Edison, New Jersey

Description

Robert half is currently seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for our client in the Edison, NJ area. The Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects and overseeing the successful completion of those projects within budget and on schedule. This role requires a combination of analytical skills for estimating project costs, strong project management abilities, and effective communication skills to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize construction plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

  • Analyze project requirements and conduct cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective methods and materials.

  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and bids.

  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring terms and conditions align with project requirements and budget constraints.

  • Review and analyze contract documents to mitigate risks and liabilities.

  • Lead project teams effectively, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure optimal performance.

  • Foster collaboration and communication among team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Proven experience in construction estimating and project management, preferably in commercial or residential construction.

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
