Actalent Electrical Estimator in EDGAR, Wisconsin

Job Title: Electrical EstimatorJob Description

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting mechanical fabrication drawings and Process & Instrumentation Drawings. You will complete pipe, fitting, and mechanical component take-offs from drawings, plant site visits, and email RFQs, then organize this into a cost estimate sheet to input component prices and calculate labor for shop fabrication and installation. You will work closely with sales personnel, project managers, process engineers, shop supervisors, and field supervisors to provide timely support for quoting multiple projects. Additionally, you will interface with vendors for component selections and pricing, and directly with customers for proposal preparation and some inside component sales. You will also assist sales personnel with the writing of technical sections of proposals and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Travel to both state and domestic U.S. customer facilities is required, averaging about 10%.

Hard Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical fabrication and Process & Instrumentation Drawings

  • Experience in completing take-offs from drawings and estimating costs

  • Knowledge of metal shop fabrication processes

  • Ability to estimate labor factors for shop fabrication and installation

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work closely with various departments

  • Strong communication skills for customer and vendor interaction

  • Technical writing skills for proposal preparation

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in EDGAR, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

Office-based work with approximately 10% travel to various sites, including potential travel to Canada. Collaborative work with Sales department, designers, and engineers.
