McLaren Health Care Manager Hospice - McLaren Careers in East Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary:

Oversight of clinical activities, including patient assessments, individualized care plan development, care coordination, service level determination, on-site field visits, and the implementation/coordination/maintenance/evaluation of care plans to promote, maintain and restore the patient’s health. Responsible for ensuring that patient care is coordinated and managed appropriately. Provides overall technical direction and administration to hospice services personnel. Regularly reviews and revises, as necessary, hospice services standards and ensures procedures performed comply with all system and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of hospice services with other medical functions and serves as technical resource for departmental personnel. As an expert in the assigned unit, is a resource person to both staff and physicians. Oversees, guides and mentors the entire hospice team to ensure the plan of care for the patient population care is rendered at all times.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of hospice services in accordance with all system and regulatory agency standards.

  2. Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.

  3. Assists with developing, and administering capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives. Implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.

  4. Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and in investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports and/or patient complaints.

  5. Assists with recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies, and minor equipment purchases.

  6. Fosters smoothly running hospice services functions through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.

Required:

Current state license to practice as a registered nurse.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field of business.

Two years of hospice care experience.

One year management experience.

Current state driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.

Preferred:

Advanced degree in nursing, business or related field.

Two years experience in supervision.
