Description:

In this role, the Outreach & Enrollment Representative will support EBNHC as the organization’s brand ambassador by exhibiting the EBNHC core values when engaging community organizations, forging relationships with vital stakeholders, and ensuring EBNHC is a participatory voice in all matters related to community health equity efforts. This role will be dynamic, self-motivated, community oriented, compassionate and professional in representing EBNHC at community events and partnerships in its service areas, including East Boston, the South End and other cities and towns in our service area.

Schedule varies but includes some weeknights year-round and most weekends during the summer.

A key function of this role includes maintaining up to date knowledge about the EBNHCs programs and services and communicate these to the public. This role will be active in our East Boston and South End communities.

Activities under the purview of this role include:

  • Represents the EBNHC brand by exhibiting and being knowledgeable of EBNHC core values, mission statement, vision statement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitment.

  • Preferable, but not required, to have certifications as MassHealth Certified Application Counselor, Community Health Worker or Medical Assistant

  • Participate in execution of outreach events, MassHealth insurance enrollment events.

  • Effectively communicate needs and suggestions gathered during community events/meetings

  • Initiate positive connections with community members to EBNHC.

  • Be respectful and culturally aware during interactions with clients

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment across the organization; while also able to work on assignments without extensive supervision.

  • Being respectful of community members rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable agency rules

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.

  • Requires Spanish and English fluency.

  • Other languages (Portuguese, Italian, Arabic) a plus

  • Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation

  • Capable of physical activity with ability to carry up to 25 lbs. (setting up tables, tents, carrying supplies)

  • Knowledge of the EBNHC catchment area

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. Related Health or business degree a plus but not required.

Preferred but not required: Certified Application Counselor, Medical Assistant, Community Health Worker, Home Health Aide, and CPR certifications would be ideal.

EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate will have experience with patient/client enrollment, registration and or health care member services background. Experience in community health or community organizing, highly desirable.
