Job Title: Master Scheduler
Job Description
The Master Scheduler will be responsible for planning, organizing, and maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS). The MPS is a planned production engineering, manufacturing, and shipment schedule in weekly capacity-constrained sections. This schedule is derived from outputs of the Initial Project Planning Meetings (IPMs) and consistent discussions and coordination with Technical Project Managers (TPM) and Production Project Managers (PPM). The goals of the MPS are production efficiency, velocity, and on-time shipment performance to Original Customer Promise (OCP). The Master Scheduler works together with the Production Planners to ensure plant loading from the MPS neither underloads nor overloads available capacity, thereby ensuring timely deliveries according to OCP.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
Coordinate with Technical Project Managers (TPM) and Production Project Managers (PPM) to derive the MPS from Initial Project Planning Meetings (IPMs).
Work closely with Production Planners to balance plant loading from the MPS, avoiding underloading or overloading capacity.
Monitor production processes in alignment with the MPS through frequent interactions with Engineering Management, Manufacturing Management, Purchasing Management, Quality Management, and Executive Management.
Proactively solve problems to maintain production efficiency and on-time shipment performance.
Report findings and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Director of Manufacturing using PowerBI.
Essential Skills
Master scheduling experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems.
Hands-on approach to monitoring production processes.
Manufacturing/Engineering Planning or Project Management experience.
Proactive problem-solving skills.
Ability to report findings and KPIs to management using PowerBI.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Formal Project Management experience.
Proficiency in PowerBI for tracking data and KPIs related to engineering capacity planning.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite presence five days a week, with occasional work-from-home approved depending on workload. The role involves heavy collaboration and requires communication and interface with all departments up to the C-suite, necessitating an onsite presence.
