Johns Hopkins University Sr. Research Program Coordinator in Duluth, Minnesota

The Center for Indigenous Health (Center) is located within the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The core activities housed at the Center include research studies of infectious diseases and behavioral health, and a training program.

The goals of the Center projects include evaluating the impact and efficacy of research projects aimed at improving health outcomes for and with Native American families and communities.

We are seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator who will work closely with the Principal Investigators to manage and provide support for several research studies. Depending on interest and availability there may be additional opportunities to engage in other aspects of research and dissemination as well.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with study team members across multiple sites and coordinate research team meetings.

  • Assist with IRB submissions, including development and writing of protocols, consent forms, and other source materials.

  • Program and maintain data collection instruments in REDCap, Qualtrics and other programs as needed.

  • Hire, train, and oversee day-to-day work of research assistants involved in data collection, data entry and preparation.

  • Meet regularly with the Principal Investigators to review data accuracy and overall study progress.

  • Manage multiple datasets, create analytic data files, and conduct descriptive analyses.

  • Report results of descriptive analyses in the forms of tables and graphs and communicate findings to the research team.

  • Assist with research reporting and dissemination, including writing of progress reports, policy briefs, scientific manuscripts, and preparation of presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Perform occasional administrative duties, including submission of procurement requests, coordination and maintenance of contracts and data use agreements, scheduling of meetings, and assistance formatting manuscripts in accordance with journal submission guidelines.Communicate with study funders and donors.

  • Participate in the preparation and tracking of financial documents, such as budgets, study invoices, and annual reports

  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, training, monitoring, and supervising students; coordinate and participate in the interviewing and training of new research staff on study protocols, procedures, and reporting.

  • Address structural determinants of health disparities.

  • Generate new models of collaborative governance and health equity-driven policymaking.

  • Perform related work as required.

  • Strong cultural safety skills; extensive experience and working knowledge in diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Proficiency in the use of computers, including software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated strong, positive interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and within a variety of cultures.

Other

  • Current driver’s license issued by the state of residence and good driving record required.

  • Ability to travel with overnight stays required as needed. Some evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.

  • This position will maintain background clearance as required by the employer and any collaborating agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SPSS, SAS, Stata, and/or REDCap preferred.

  • Experience working with Native or Indigenous communities.

Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually ($56,250 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
