Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Grinding Technician to join our team! This person is responsible for CNC grinding operations. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the Prototype Engineering team. Duties include:

• Entry level technician to work CNC grinding operations for profile and cylindrical grinding

• Complete basic surface grinding to complete secondary operations on cylindrical components

• Be able to complete in-process inspections in open setup (mics, calipers) and optical comparator (angles and overlays)

• Be able to operate mechanical press and hydraulic press to assemble projectiles

• Be able to operate CNC lathe

• Be able to inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanship

• Deburr and clean components being run on CNC grinders or Lathes

• Maintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each job

• Basic computer skills to enter inspection data, etc.

  What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

  This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

• Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process

• Pass drug and alcohol testing

• Must have good mechanical skills and experience

• High standard of quality and efficiency

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Any precision grinding experience desired, cylindrical grinding experience very desired

• CNC manufacturing experience beneficial

• Solid knowledge of shop mathematics

• Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly

• Basic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy object

• Must be a US Citizen

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license

• High School diploma required, College degree not required but beneficial
