Aerotek Maintenance Technician in DETROIT, Michigan

Description:

A baking company in Detroit is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team. The team consists of 5 total maintenance personnel so it is a small, tight-knit crew. The Maintenance Technicians are responsible for 80% mechanical maintenance and 20% electrical maintenance throughout the facility. 70% of the mechanical work will be with conveyor systems - including maintenance/monitoring of drive shaft, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, greasing/oiling, and any other component related to the conveyor system. Additional mechanical work would include - PM's, welding (tig/mig), plumbing/piping, refrigeration, and air compressors. The electrical work would include troubleshooting, trace and trace, and inputs and outputs of relay logic/PLC-driven/computer-driven machines (no programming or addendums; the programs are written already).

Pay/Shift:

  • $20-$30/hour

  • 2nd shift Monday-Saturday. 4:00 pm-2:00 am.

  • Production stops at 10:00 pm so most maintenance work/PMs/projects happen from 10:00 pm-2:00 am before 1st shift starts.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves

  • 3-5+ years of conveyor maintenance experience.

  • PMs, drive shaft, gearboxes, sprockets, cams, chains, oiling/greasing, motors, repair and replacement.

  • 5+ years of mechanical troubleshooting experience.

  • Conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pumps, welding, refrigeration, plumbing/piping, and machines.

  • 2+ years of electrical troubleshooting.

  • Relay/PLC troubleshooting, trace and trace, inputs and outputs, viewing program (no programming or addendums to current programs).

  • Ability to TAKE NOTES regarding daily maintenance activities. Notebooks provided.

Preferred experience/skills:

  • Food/baking experience

  • Refrigeration experience

  • Plumbing/piping experience

  • Allen Bradley experience

  • Welding - tig and mig
