Henry Ford Health System Facilitator - Clinical Quality I - 40 hrs/wk - Days - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

With guidance and direction of their leadership, the Facilitator -Clinical Quality I

performs project work of a complex nature with interdisciplinary groups that include

administrators, nursing and medical leaders. Co-leads large system teams and lead

projects at a business unit level. Acts as a consultant or facilitator on regulatory, disease

certification, patient safety and quality issues. With guidance, designs and delivers

educational programs to assist employees, physicians and leadership, meet safety and

quality goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to direct, facilitate and coordinate the design and implementation of clinical

    quality and patient safety initiatives, programs and projects at the business unit level;

    provide project management support to clinical improvement initiatives.

  • Assesses project needs based on evidenced based best practice(s) and/or

    regulatory standards; Guides the selection of appropriate team members to address

    project needs; Guides and/or develops a work plan including timelines; Ensures

    teams are organized through meeting agendas and a method to document goals,

    responsibility and progress; Demonstrates the ability to develop an effective

    communication plan (including education if appropriate);Seeks leadership guidance

    appropriately to assist with the identification of obstacles/barriers to success.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the science of process improvement

    and provides formal and informal consultation to all members of the health care

    team and support staff, external customers (including students), and administrative

    staff in process improvement methodologies, performance measurement, sustain

    and spread methodologies

  • Applies various quality improvement processes/tools and ability to initiate, design,

    and develop process improvement projects and programs based on organizational

    needs; Researches “best practices” as initial step; Assists in choice of appropriate

    measures; Assists in design of the methodology for data collection; Assists in

    analysis and interpretation of data; Guides testing of changes, and specifically small

    tests of change

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field is required; Master’s degree in Nursing

    or a related field preferred.

  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience required with

    two years project management experience preferred.

  • Experience in the delivering educational programs is an asset.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan, preferred.
