Job Title: Day Program Assistant FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt Reports to: Program Supervisor Schedule: FT, varies Supervises: N/A Start Date: TBD Rate of Pay: $21/hour Close Date: 2/3/2024 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Function: This is a full time, non-exempt, hourly position, 40 hours a week with vacation and sick time as well as medical, dental, and optional insurance coverages. The program seeks a candidate who is flexible and available to work business hours along with awake, overnight 12-hour shifts, if needed. Schedule to be determined based on coverage needs. The assistant works with guests to ensure that all are being safe, responsible, and respectful while at the facility. We are seeking a candidate who can work independently with limited supervision. This position requires the ability to use discretion when addressing or resolving resident matters while providing a positive customer experience for program guests. The assistant requires basic knowledge of record keeping practices and procedures. This position also has some cleaning responsibilities in addition to light food preparation/serving. Duties and Responsibilities: (List by section/topic as possible) Provides consistent coverage for assigned shifts Performs general administrative functions such as noting within the communication log, answering the phone, data entry in Wellsky, scanning receipts, completing inventory of products, and responding to in-person inquiries in a professional manner. Provides appropriate information and referrals for those who need other resources. Assists guests of the Lambuth Family Center with needs and questions. Works with guests to ensure all are being safe, responsible, and respectful while at the facility. Helps guests resolve any issues as they may arise Provides crisis intervention as needed, including determining when it is necessary to involve other staff, administration or the authorities. Assist Office Manager, Case Managers, and Program Supervisor in projects as needed Assist in light cleaning and food preparation/serving Attends staff meetings and participates in activities designated by supervisor. Utilizing a Trauma Informed Care approach Ensuring all guests are adhering to the policies and procedures and informing appropriate staff of incidents or concerns in a timely manner. Qualification and Education Requirements: Minimum High School Diploma or GED required, Associates or bachelor's degree preferred. Customer services experience; effective communication and people skills Desire to serve others who are overcoming hardships Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries Experience using trauma informed care and crisis management techniques, preferred Ability to work independently or in a team Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, integrated database applications, and ability to use new software programs with basic training Successfully pass background check Proficient written and verbal skills in the English Language Complete internal Protecting the Mission training for working with minors within three months of employment Must be prompt and dependable Be supportive of The Salvation Army's mission.
