Description

This role revolves around the preparation of form and rate filings, legal research, and compliance with state and federal laws within the insurance industry. The successful candidate will be skilled in negotiation, document filing, and ensuring compliance, offering vital support in legal matters.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to objections, seek clarifications and negotiate filing approvals directly with state and federal regulators.

• Monitor changes to laws and regulations including insurance department form, rate, and rule changes.

• Review product/policy forms to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

• Conduct state-specific legal research to mitigate risks and ensure compliance of existing products.

• Maintain product/policy and rate compliance files, ensuring all necessary documentation is contained within the appropriate files.

• Perform legal support assignments and projects, ensuring their timely completion.

• Leverage experience in the property and casualty insurance industry for effective execution of tasks.

• Utilize strong written communication skills for effective content management.

• Offer workstation support when necessary to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements • Demonstrated experience in paralegal duties within a legal setting

• Proficiency in documentation, policy development, and ensuring compliance

• Experience in reviewing legal documents, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements

• Proven ability to support workstation operations and content management systems (CMS)

• Knowledge of property law regulations, federal law, and casualty insurance

• Proficiency in legal research and written communication skills

• Experience in negotiation, filing, and mitigation

• Ability to manage and ensure compliance in a regulated environment

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other related software

• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field, or equivalent work experience required

• Certification as a Paralegal or equivalent is preferred.
