Job Summary and Qualifications

Oversees the daily operations of the environmental services and linen departments at Medical City Dallas and Medical City Heart and Spine hospital, ensuring that work is completed in a timely and satisfactory manner. Position may include, but is not limited to scheduling, employee relations, hiring, ordering supplies and quality assurance. Actively participates in duties as related to patient needs and functioning of the hospital environment. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

  • Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership in the area of EVS, linen, and waste management daily operations.

  • Assists the department director with creating and implementing strategies to maintain department goals and key metrics which includes, but is not limited to, productivity, room turnaround time, HCAHPS cleanliness, support services satisfaction, employee engagement, and budget.

  • Interacts and develops relationships with all stakeholders to better understand needs to provide optimal service.

  • Assists in the hiring process; interview, hiring and training of new associates and maintaining acceptable turnover.

  • Responsible for orientation and training of new staff as well as continued education of existing staff.

  • Responsible for leadership development of all supervisors and team leads.

  • Performs regular inspections and evaluations of the facility recommending action items when necessary.

  • Responsible for managing floor care operations and scheduling projects.

  • Responsible for department inventory and ordering supplies.

  • Conducts regular staff huddles and rounds.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of leadership experience in a hospital setting required.

  • Knowledge of floor care maintenance preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.

  • Ability to maintain organization in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint presentation skills required.
