Seeking an enthusiastic electrical engineer to join our Display Engineering Team, and work on groundbreaking products. The Display Hardware team is looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to lead the development and validation across a variety of Apple products. You will be working on flat panel displays both at the component and system level, serving as a focal point between the system design team, the display EE team, display mechanical team, the supply base management team, and the display suppliers, managing all activities vital to deliver displays into final products from initial concept to production. Key Qualifications

  • Relevant industry experience developing consumer electronics and/ or embedded systems.

  • Strong EE fundamentals (analog/ digital design, signal/power integrity, etc.)

  • Experience in three or more of the following areas:

  • Lab environment using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, etc.

  • EE-Optical related test for early display module validation, characterization, and establish display module behavior model.

  • Design high volume products from beginning to end and managing contract manufacturers.

  • Design and characterization of three or more: DDR3/4, USB-C, LPDP, MIPI, I2C/SPI/UART, MCU, DC-DC converters, power management, low power design.

  • Implementation and support for display IP integration and design verification.

  • Display electrical, power, backplane, silicon, module integration.

  • Image sensing/processing, digital signal processing (DSP).

  • FPGA based display system prototyping.

  • Color science, computer vision/graphics and module optics.

  • Strong verbal and written communications

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time

Description

Apply your engineering expertise and work with multi-functional teams to realize products that consumers will love. Collaborate with a large number of cross-functional groups to enable world class products. Daily activities would include: Identify engineering problems by simulation, analysis, and DFMEA. Define test criteria and execute these test plans to demonstrate the robustness of your designs. Occasionally travel domestically and overseas to work with our manufacturing partners to ensure success of the product. Perform failure analysis on electrical, mechanical and optical issues Contributor as a partner in the overall system design and validation Handle the display suppliers as the primary technical contact window Design and capture PCB level schematic & layout for prototyping and test platforms Lead electrical characterization / validation from prototype through mass production Identify open engineering issues and drive them to closure with efficiency to support project needs Ensure display goals are met for engineering builds and initial mass production. Address issues from initial ramp and field returns related to displays and qualification of solutions Perform the vital display testing and review test results from the display vendors, system OEMs, and multi-functional groups at Apple to ensure the performance specifications are met

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
