American Woodmark Cell Lead in Cumberland, Maryland

A Team Lead serves as a figurehead for the hourly production team members and efficiently utilizes all available resources in meeting or exceeding established plant goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise and manage daily department activities to meet production and safety goals
  • Coordinate communication between the department and other levels of the plant
  • Ensure the maintenance of all production equipment and support equipment
  • Train, coordinate, and supervise hourly team members in the production areas
  • Motivate and develop team members to reach/exceed agreed upon objectives through periodic performance reviews
  • Strive for continuous improvement and ensure product quality standards are met
  • Performs any assemble-type function using hand and/or power tools
  • Use scanning system to account for cabinets produced, ensuring quality standards are met
  • Accurately interpret production labels, packing lists, pallet tickets, job orders, and manifests
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify wood species, finishes, cabinet types, color variances, and identify all box components
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Required Physical Ability:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, crouching, pulling and pushing
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 30lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
  • Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, gloves, and sleeves
  • The noise level is usually moderate to high
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
