ROLE OVERVIEW

Thiess is looking to fill the role of Information Technology Lead for the region. The IT Lead manages delivery of quality Information and Communications Technology services to projects and regional offices across the US, Canada and Chile. In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering technology solutions to enable projects and future growth. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Information Technology Services 

  • Collaboration & engagement with Global Information and Communications technology teams, and Americas users / stakeholders across projects and regional areas
  • Proactively review the services being provided to ensure they are fit for purpose, cost effective and performing adequately
  • Ensure all systems and network services are available when required by the business and are performing as expected
  • SME for network, hardware and software decisions across Thiess projects and offices, assessing options for commercial viability, and making recommendations
  • Day to day administration of Thiess Systems and associated hardware, and user accounts
  • Install and implement hardware and software on Local Area Networks and standalone workstations, providing initial customer instruction where necessary
  • Management of inventory of hardware including cell phones
  • Ensure ICT compliance and governance across the region, in accordance with Group policies 

Project mobilization

  • Mobilization and establishment of new projects include planning and decisions 

Technology solutions

  • Promote & support technology initiatives, providing technical advice and support to internal/external staff when required
  • Adopt change management processes and best practices in the implementation of changes to major IT&T systems
  • Produce and maintain process documentation as required
  • Assist procurement needs by obtaining prices and sourcing ICT supplies as required
  • Monitor developments in ICT technology and make recommendations to management on the adoption of appropriate new technologies 

     REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient in configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls

  • Firm knowledge of industry cabling standards and methods
  • Working knowledge of enterprise ICT environments
  • Working knowledge of workstation hardware, peripheral devices and networks
  • Knowledge of server technologies such as AD, Group Policy, Citrix
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as Azure
  • Knowledge of mobile device management platforms such as Intune
  • Knowledge of Anti-Virus/security practices
  • Ability to provide in-depth technical PC support and analysis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in network engineering & ICT with an emphasis on customer suppo t  
  • Minimum of 2 years ICT leadership experience, engagement and collaboration with stakeholders and support teams  
  • Demonstrated experience in working with cloud applications
  • Experience in the provision of remote and onsite support in a previous environment with a complex, distributed site network 
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize day to day work in an independent manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Experience with the creation of design, project documentation and process documentation
  • Experience with working in an environment that is tracked via an incident management tool
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required
  • Proficiency in English required
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  *

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer  
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Based out of the North American Business Unit in the greater Salt Lake City Utah area (Cottonwood Heights)  
  • This is a hybrid role with a blend of home and office working opportunities, however, during a period of training and for other business needs there may be times when 100% office work is required.
