Performs the design and analysis for structural engineering assignments using knowledge and application of engineering principles. Performs structural modelling analysis to determine loading and forces in the structure. Works on the design calculations for structural engineering assignments. Prepares design plans, specifications, and cost estimates as part of design packages for clients’ capital projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods.

Telecommuting is allowed.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 1 year of work experience as a Bridge Engineer, Bridge Design Engineer or a related Civil Engineering occupation. Or Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 3 years of work experience as a Bridge Engineer, Bridge Design Engineer or a related Civil Engineering occupation.

Special Skills or Other Requirements:

Expertise/ knowledge of: Bridge design experience such as a background in steel girder bridges or prestressed concrete bridges or retaining structures and drainage structures. AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures. Structural and bridge analysis and design software. CAD tools and Microsoft Excel applications. ODOT practices and procedures. MicroStation inroads and Open roads platform. Developing project specific delivery plans.
