The Multimedia Producer supports the multimedia instructional needs of Miami Herbert Business School (MHBS) faculty and staff, working closely with clients to understand their objectives, establish timelines, and effectively manage multiple projects to completion. This role involves contributing creative ideas, offering strategic insights, and making revisions based on client feedback throughout the full creative process, from concept to final production. The producer creates a range of materials, including electronic, print, and multimedia pieces, ensuring quality and alignment with client goals and MHBS standards.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participates in the development of a consistent multi-media strategy, thereby increasing the awareness of the University’s brand, programs, and services; organizes and manages multi-media channels to reach planned goals and objectives; engages users and enhances the University’s image as an innovative, professional, and approachable service-oriented agency.

  • Produces new innovative, user-friendly content for websites to improve overall experience; ensures internal audiences reached by effectively utilizing the intranet/internet and media.

  • Works with a wide range of project formats including flat, video, 3D, and web, video and photo editing programs, and Web development software to provide educational tools and materials; uses desktop and electronic publishing software.

  • Assesses the content that is being produced and ensures that it is aligned with university values; ensures that content is in compliance and adheres to multi-media standards, policies, and all relevant rules, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Develops scripts, treatments, and concepts that positively depict UM employees, clients, missions, programs, functions, and services; researches and recommends effective technical solutions for multi-media production and delivery problems. Conducts quality assurance and testing to ensure that multi-media products perform as expected on targeted audiences.

  • Edits existing video files: extracts, combines, and manipulates existing videos to create clips and trailers; and adds logos, watermarks, etc., to existing videos.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

  • Develop and produce high-quality multimedia content, including graphics, videos, animations, infographics, and interactive media for educational and promotional purposes.

  • Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to create visually compelling materials that enhance learning experiences and support curriculum goals.

  • Ensure a consistent visual style and brand identity across all multimedia content, aligning with the college’s strategic vision and values.

  • Coordinate all aspects of video production based on the requirements provided by Instructional Design professionals, including concept development, storyboarding, filming, editing, sound design, and post-production.

  • Produce educational videos, tutorials, promotional content, and event coverage that effectively communicate key messages to diverse audiences.

  • Ensure that all video content aligns with the college’s standards for quality, accessibility, and brand consistency.

  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to identify multimedia needs and develop creative solutions that support teaching, learning, and communication strategies.

  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

  • Guide faculty and staff on multimedia production techniques and best practices as needed.

  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in multimedia design, video production, and digital storytelling.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of multimedia content and implement innovative approaches to multimedia production.

  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of multimedia materials, using feedback and analytics to inform future projects.

  • Design a range of visual materials, such as digital graphics, banners, presentations, social media content, and web graphics, tailored to various formats and audiences.

  • Ensure all graphic design work meets high-quality standards, is aligned with the Miami Herbert School of Business and UM in general brand guidelines,and is optimized for different platforms and media.

Skills:

  • Video Editing Software: (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Camtasia, Avid Media Composer, Pinnacle)

  • Graphic Design and Image Editing (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva)

  • Animation and Motion Graphics Software(Adobe After Effects, Blender, Vyond or Powtoon)

  • Microsoft Suite 365

Certification and Licensing:

  • Video Editing Software: Mid level to high end Professional edit software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Camtasia, Avid Media Composer, Pinnacle, i.e)

  • Graphic Design and Image Editing: Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva

Experience:

  • 5 years preferred
