Senior Financial Analyst

Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for a variety of tasks for finance, accounting and corporate risk. Primary responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, insurance renewal, claims administration and reporting. This position reports to and will work closely with the Controller and will assist with expanding FP&A activities across the company. This role will help ensure that the company has minimized risk and controlled costs, which will be achieved through proper planning and through managing adherence to the budget.

Key Duties :

  • Lead corporate FP&A activities.

  • Support corporate treasury activities.

  • Assist with the renewal and administration of the corporate insurance program, including liability, property, auto and various other coverages, and certificates of insurance.

  • Support administration of insurance claims, including but not limited to property damage, general liability, and motor vehicles.

  • Serve as an accounting resource for the monthly close process, responsible for certain journal entries, account reconciliations, financial review and variance analysis.

  • Provide financial support for the annual external financial audit, including financial review, schedule preparation and analysis.

  • Administer the corporate card program, including providing assistance to cardholders and fraud prevention.

  • Manage completion and submission of compliance surveys.

  • Compile quarterly board schedules.

  • Suggest improvements to ensure compliance and efficiency when deficiencies are detected.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting or related field.

  • Three to five (3 to 5) years of experience in finance and/or accounting preferred.

  • Experience working with corporate insurance and claims management preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Critical thinking

  • Judgement and decision making

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.

  • Proficiency with SAP preferred.

  • Proficiency with FP&A software preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with both internal and external parties.

  • Detail oriented and task driven.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle time sensitive issues.
