Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer Work location: Irving, TX / The Woodlands, TX / Alpharetta, GA / Richmond VA / Columbus OH As a Sr. Data Engineer at McKesson, you will play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and maintaining data architectures, databases, and large-scale processing systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop efficient data pipelines and contribute to our organization's data modernization efforts. This position requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, cloud technologies, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Key Accountabilities: Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines to support various data-driven initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and contribute to the development of data architectures. Work on data integration projects, ensuring seamless and optimized data flow between systems. Implement best practices for data engineering, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance. Contribute to data modernization efforts by leveraging cloud solutions and optimizing data processing workflows. Demonstrate technical leadership by staying abreast of emerging data engineering technologies and implementing industry best practices. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with the team to address unique challenges in talent attraction, development, and retention. Minimum Requirements: 10+ years of experience of professional experience in related IT field Critical Skills: Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Deep technical expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines and large-scale processing systems. Deep technical expertise with Azure and Databricks. Experience working with cloud solutions and contributing to data modernization efforts. Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java) for data manipulation and transformation. Excellent understanding of data engineering principles, data architecture, and database management. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additional Experience: Knowledge of the healthcare, distribution, or software industries is a plus. Strong technical aptitude and experience with a wide variety of technologies Ability to rapidly learn and if required evaluate a new tool or technology. Strong verbal & written communication skills Demonstrated technical experience. Be an innovative thinker. Must have a strong customer and quality focus. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science). Physical Requirements: General Office Demands Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without support from McKesson. Relocation is NOT budgeted for this position.
