Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime work schedule with up to two days per week remote work opportunities. General Summary: Under the direction of the supervisor, Payroll and HRIS, support the payroll and compensation team with development, administrations, implementation, maintenance and analysis of job, pay and associate information that supports State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio's (STRS Ohio) business strategy and compensation philosophy. Summary of Responsibilities: Participate in wage and salary surveys. Prepare annual compensation evaluations and reports. Benchmark jobs against survey data, other market intelligence and use data analysis techniques to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position. Research employee compensation in similar industries; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the company's existing policies. Oversee the job classification process and salary recommendations ensuring internal equity and market alignment by applying standard job evaluation methodologies. Provide guidance to management regarding departmental compensation. Oversee and evaluate job descriptions for each position in the organization; partner with management, ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents. Assess FLSA exemption status and recommend salary pay grade assignments. Serve as the primary back-up to the supervisor, Payroll and HRIS for payroll processing. Under the guidance of the management, complete specific projects which may include job leveling, salary range design, annual salary planning or human resources information system data analysis. Coordinate the companywide annual Performance Review process including communication, tracking, review and data reporting. Summary of Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business, human resources or relevant field preferred. Two or more years' experience in human resources, data analysis or compensation required. One to three years' experience in the areas of payroll, benefits, programs, performance management, employee relations, staffing and legal compliance preferred. Experience with Workday strongly preferred. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
