UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Security / Facility Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Site Security Manager / Special Security Representative (SSR) to support on-goingefforts in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the principal on-site manager: focal point as the customer representative, schedules kick-off and periodic progress meetings with customer, and prepares project schedule and attendance reports

  • Advises the customer of project risks and Issues and their resolution

  • Serve as the only authorized approving official(s) for badge/PIN access to the SCIF

  • Administers the SCI security program by providing proper protection, use, and dissemination of SCI documents and material by enforcing SCI, information, personnel, physical, communications, industrial, and Information Assurance (IA) security rules and by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and practices

  • Serves as the official channel for certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances and accesses to the facility

  • Maintains applicable SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to adequately discharge SSR duties and responsibilities

  • Conducts annual and biennial SCI security derivative training by Executive Order 13526 (Reference (l)

  • Maintains appropriate accreditation documentation for each SCIF, communications system, and Information System (IS) under their security cognizance

  • Properly accounts for, control, transmit, transport, package, and safeguard SCI

  • Provides the duties required for destruction of SCI by authorized means and in accordance with DoDM 5105.21, Volumes 1 thru 3, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Administrative Security Manual

  • Ensures that SCI is only disseminated to persons authorized access to the material and having an established need to know

  • Maintains the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to accurately reflect all personnel under their cognizance

  • SSRs will be under the direction of the USSPACECOM Special Security Office (SSO) and will be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the facility's SCI security program

  • The SSRs will perform one or more of the SSO duties as delegated and agreed to by the USSPACECOM SSOs and will be an SCI-indoctrinated individual with the skills, training, and experience to fulfill the specific duties

  • SSRs are required to support CSOF operations, which run 24 hours/day, seven days/week, including holidays

Qualifications

  • 10 years of general experience with at least 6 years specialized in security, these include but are not limited to physical and electronic/electrical security systems, physical security requirements, security requirements incident to maintenance of U.S. Government Classified information

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing Government contracts is required

  • Must have experience in individual Project Management as well as management of several related projects simultaneously, as well as specialized Project management experience including preparation of Project Plans, Work Breakdown Schedules, use of Project management software tools, preparation of Risk assessment and Issue Resolution reports, Project Closeout and Lessons Learned documents

Minimum Education:

Bachelors Degree in IT, Engineering or business-related field; or Masters degree or Project Manager Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), 7 years of experience of which 5 years is specialized meets requirements; or

25 years of experience (no degree is needed), but at least 10 years of experience must be as Project Manager.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
