JUVENILE DETENTION OFFICER

THIS POSITION is responsible for providing direct supervision and guidance of delinquent youth in all daily living activities in secure setting, while maintaining the safety and security of staff and residents.

  • \$24.71 (+\$.50 per hour shift differential)

  • This position is required to work non-traditional, flexible work schedules, including weekends and holidays and variable shifts including nights.

DO YOU QUALIFY?

  • Do you have a Bachelors degree OR
  • Associates degree in in Criminal Justice, psychology or sociology with a minimum two years work experience in those fields OR
  • High School diploma and two years experience working with youth 10-17 years of age (preferably at-risk youth) as an occupation, or in a volunteer capacity?
  • Are you 21 years of age or older?
  • Do you have the ability to obtain Idaho P.O.S.T certification?
  • Prior experience in any POST Certified position, or institutional environment, or other security intensive environment will be considered if you also have, at minimum, a GED.
  • Do you have a drivers license or are eligible to obtain one?
  • Are you able to pass basic skills test? (spelling, grammar, math, reasoning)
